    We’ve been asked several times recently about what sort of monthly data plan you might need if you were to live stream a 1-hour service weekly using mobile phone data. The answer to this question isn’t quite ‘how long is a piece of string’ but there are lots of variables to take into account. There are guides around that you can read that can help give you a rough estimate, and last year we wrote a blog on how you stream with 4G data, coming to this conclusion:

    Live streaming can use a lot of data, so it’s essential to be able to estimate how much before using a 4G connection. Using the numbers below, you can determine how much monthly data you need to live stream your digital worship services.

    Streaming in Full HD 1080p
    Between 2GB and 3GB of data per hour
    Streaming in Standard HD 720p
    Between 0.8GB and 2GB of data per hour
